Biography

Allen Cornelius has a broad background in teaching and research. He obtained his BA in Chemistry and Philosophy from Franklin & Marshall College and an MFS in Forensic Science from George Washington University. He later received an MA in sport psychology and a PhD in counseling psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

He has worked as a counselor in a college counseling center and done grant-funded research on psychological factors related to adherence to rehabilitation after ACL knee surgery. He served as Commissioner of Research for the NFF Center for Youth Development through Sport at Springfield College, where he was responsible for the evaluation of a nationwide, multi-site youth development program, and other youth development initiatives.

Cornelius has authored or co-authored over 100 presentations or publications, and has served as a research and statistical consultant for grants totaling over $2.5 million.
