Wide ranging knowledge and experience in physical sciences, IT (hardware and software), and medical devices.
David holds a B.Sc. from Simon Fraser University, and a M.Sc. and Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia, all in Physics.
David assesses new IP disclosures in physical sciences, engineering, ICT and medical devices, and accelerates selected disclosures through the commercialization process to licensing and/or company creation.
In addition to his role at MI, David is currently the Chief of Operations for QD Solar, a solar technology company built on research from the University of Toronto.
Prior to joining MI, David worked as an engineer for a small company specialized in factory testing and automation systems for manufacturing heavy-duty trucks and machinery. In this role, he gained experience applying technology to solve business and manufacturing problems. He also gained valuable insight about working for a small business that sells services and equipment to Fortune 100 multinationals.
David has over a decade of technical experience gathering and analyzing experimental data in both academic and industrial settings.
