Biography
Gregg Stull, Chair of the Department of Theatre and Dance, Chair of the Department of Music and Professor of Theatre, earned an M.A. (1986) in theatre from the University of Maryland after receiving a B.A. (1982) in dramatic arts from Mary Washington College.
Stull is an expert on funding, policy, and First Amendment issues involving the arts. He consults with arts organizations throughout the country in the area of strategic planning, artistic assessment, and community engagement. He has served as a panelist for the Ohio Arts Council and as an evaluator for the National Endowment for the Arts. An expert on social action and the arts, Stull has directed two international displays of the entire AIDS Memorial Quilt.

In a response to the uncertainty of the times, theater students at the University of Mary Washington recorded their own version of “Anybody Have a Map?” with lyrics updated by Jon Reynolds, the theater department’s director of marketing and audience services, to reflect common experiences of the COVID-19 pandemic. “We really wanted to create something with our students that gave them a chance to respond to their feelings and was hopeful in these uncertain times,” Stull said.

The University of Mary Washington’s Department of Theatre & Dance will continue its current season with “The Drunken City,” according to a university release. The comedy will be performed Thursday through Saturday and Feb. 19 through 21 at 8 p.m., as well as Feb. 15, 21 and 22 at 2 p.m. in duPont Hall’s Klein Theatre. In “The Drunken City,” bride-to-be Marnie and her two bridesmaids, Linda and Melissa, take to New York City for a bachelorette celebration when they meet Frank and Eddie during their bar crawl. The bridal party then becomes the only thing between the bride-to-be and a huge mistake. The play is directed by Gregg Stull, professor and chair of the Department of Theatre & Dance and Department of Music.
