Retired Colonel, pilot and decorated combat veteran is available to speak about Iraq and the Middle East

As the world and the media are focused on the progressing escalation of events in the Middle East, all eyes are on the actions, reactions and rhetoric between America and Iran – Iraq is caught uncomfortably right in the middle.

Dr. Michael Canders is an Associate Professor and Director of the Aviation Center at Farmingdale and a decorated combat veteran.  He also served as the Commander of a major US Airbase in Iraq and can discuss how the troops are prepared for attacks such as those recently made by Iran at al-Assad Airbase.

Before leaving the Navy for service in the Air Force Reserve and New York Air National Guard, Michael served in the Persian Gulf and Turkey during the 1990s, and took part in combat search and rescue missions in Iraq in 2003.
