Biography
Alma Boutin-Martinez, Ph.D., serves as Associate Provost for Institutional Effectiveness and Continuous Improvement (WSCUC Accreditation Liaison Officer). In these roles, Dr. Boutin-Martinez oversees and supports curricular planning; instructional design and delivery; student advisement; course; program; and university learning outcomes; course evaluations; program reviews; and accreditation self-studies; regulatory reporting; state authorization; institutional research; analytics; providing leadership and support to ensure the high quality and integrity of Fielding’s
academic programs.
Prior to serving in these roles, she worked for five years as Fielding’s Senior Institutional Research Analyst, providing data and analyses to support program evaluation, institutional and program accreditation, learning assessment, and institutional decision-making.
Dr. Boutin-Martinez has an M.A. in Psychology from California State University, Fullerton, and a Ph.D. in Education from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Before joining Fielding Graduate University, she worked as a researcher for the Fullerton Longitudinal Study (FLS), an ongoing four-decade study of human development from infancy to adulthood. Dr. Boutin-
Martinez conducted educational program evaluation research for the University of California Evaluation Center (UCEC). In addition, she worked as an Instructional Design Consultant at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she provided guidance and support to faculty and teaching assistants in the Learning Management System (Moodle).
