Biography

I am Cynthia, I have combined my love for attachment and conscious parenting along with my training and education as a licensed clinical social worker, psychotherapist and counselor to offer parents and caregivers a space to grow, share, connect and thrive in their child rearing and family lives.

My parenting journey began 24 years ago with the birth of my daughter and evolved 18 years later with the birth of my son. I have been a teen parent, a single parent, a co parent, an overwhelmed, not exactly sure how to be a good parent type of parent. I have been a permissive parent, a helicopter parent, an authoritative parent (did I miss any parenting styles), but nothing has prepared me the most for the challenges (and gifts) that come along with raising a human as much as my personal and educational journey with attachment parenting and conscious parenting. Don't get me wrong, the struggle is still real, but it is easier to manage (at least most days..have I mentioned that I am also human)!

I have worked for over a decade with families in various community settings. I have helped families involved in the foster care system, juvenile justice system, young children, youth and adults who have experienced trauma and adversities, including individuals living with mental health challenges. I am trained in various evidenced-based practices, including Trauma-Focused CBT and Seeking Safety. I am an Accredited Attached at the Heart Parent Educator (AAHPE) and Certified Trauma-Informed Nonviolent Parenting Educator.

I have dedicated by career to helping those responsible for raising children develop a proactive approach because I truly believe that raising a child is the hardest yet most important task in life. Truth is, when it comes to raising children, there will always be problems to solve, worries and fears, so why not have a PROACTIVE approach? Learn more about my proactive approach here.
