Biography

The majority of my career has been within the mining industry where I have led hydrogeological investigations at some of the largest mines and mining projects for companies such as Antamina, BHP, Rio Tinto, Xstrata, Anglo American, Newmont, Freeport McMoRan, Teck, Gold Fields, and Barrick.

Extensive experience in groundwater exploration and aquifer management, aquifer recharge, karst investigations, tailings and waste rock seepage investigations, numerical modeling, mine dewatering, hydrogeological components for feasibility studies and EIA’s for new mines and dam sites, groundwater and soil remediation, geochemistry, and surface water hydrology components.

Currently Co-founder and Managing Director for FloSolutions, a new and innovative consulting group focused on water management in the Mining and Agricultural Sectors. Previously I was Global Mining Hydrogeology Sector Leader for MWH between 2008 and 2013. The MWH hydrogeology group in Lima was the largest and most diverse center for hydrogeology within MWH globally and arguably one of the largest and most diverse hydrogeological groups worldwide.

Prior to MWH I was Founder and Managing Director of Ground Water International (GWI), the largest hydrogeological consulting group in Peru between 2004 and 2008. GWI clients included Antamina, Yanacocha, Minsur, Volcan, BHP, Rio Tinto, Xstrata, Newmont, Teck, Gold Fields, and Barrick. At the time of acquisition by MWH in 2008, GWI had over 40 staff members from 11 countries.

Previous to MWH I was Founder and General Manager of Hydrogeological Consultants Inc. Peru S.A.C.(2002 - 2004). Although we only operated for about two years, HCI Peru worked with some of the largest mines in Peru including Antamina and Yanacocha.
