Biography
David Guarino’s entire life has been defined by a love of photography. During grammar school, David was already developing film negatives and creating enlargements in a darkroom his dad built in his parents' basement. At 15, David sold his first photos - a series documenting New York City - to a coffee-table book publisher. He was soon hired as a photography intern for a local community newspaper, and landed his first front-page photo at 17. By the time he reached his 20’s, David was photographing more than 50 weddings a year.
In 1988, David built one of Long Island's largest and most successful photography studios, specializing in advertising. His work has been published in numerous publications, including Popular Photography, Elle, Glamour, Cosmopolitan, Bride’s Magazine, and The New York Times, and he has won more than 50 BOLI (Best of Long Island) awards from the Long Island Advertising Club. His photographs have appeared in countries as far away as Australia.
David has taught advanced photography at Farmingdale State College since 2011.
