Dorothy Manzer is an expert in trauma-focused cognitive behavior therapy and managing and adapting practices.

Biography

Dorothy Nieto Manzer joined the teaching faculty at USC School of Social Work in 2014, teaching clinical practice with children and families, human behavior and the social environment and field seminar classes. She brings passion and enthusiasm to her teaching, to assist the next generation of social workers in cultivating their professional identity and skills.

She earned her MSW at USC in 1988, after graduating with a BA from California State University, Fullerton, in 1984.

A licensed clinical social worker, Nieto Manzer has worked with children and families in both prevention and intervention programs for over 25 years. She is well versed in evidence-based practices such as trauma-focused cognitive behavior therapy, managing and adapting practices, Second Step and solution-focused therapy. She has worked in diverse community settings employing a trauma-informed and strength-based approach combined with collaborative interdisciplinary practices with schools, family resource centers, outpatient and inpatient mental health programs and nonprofit community-based agencies.
