School of Social Work Building Bridges, Creating Community
Commemorating its own 85-year legacy of training leaders to mitigate the important social problems of our time, the School of Social Work is uniting students, faculty and the community in the name of diversity and the sharing of differences in an atmosphere of cooperation, respect and inclusion. An annual event born out of the city’s civil unrest in 1992, the educational forum provides an opportunity for an exchange of ideas and discussions pertinent to the complex issues facing a diverse society as it struggles to communicate across differences in race/ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age, social class and disability.
