Biography
Jason Parks is a pastor, CEO, and corporate trainer. He has 20 years experience in corporate communications, healthcare administration and non-profit leadership. Jason has provided professional development for corporations, local governments and nonprofits including General Electric, Federal Mogul, CSFCO, Morgan County Department of Education, JF Drake Community & Technical College and more. He has also spoken at The White House and US House of Representatives. Jason is currently the pastor of Refuge Church and Church at My House with over 15.58 million viewers globally. He is also an instructor in the College of Professional Studies at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
Jason has a BS in Communication Arts from the University of North Alabama, a Master of Business Administration from Liberty University, and a Master of Divinity from Rockbridge Seminary. He is also a Board Certified Pastoral Counselor, Board Certified Mental Health Coach, Certified Addictions and Recovery Specialist, and Advanced Certified in Human Behavior.

Local church makes room for happiness in lives of children and teens with life threatening illnesses

Refuge Church is expanding its Rooms of Refuge bedroom makeover program to include Madison County teens and children with life threatening illnesses. "We can't add more days to your life, but we can add more life to your days," Refuge Church's Lead Pastor Jason Parks said. Refuge Church and Hospice Family Care created Rooms of Refuge in February 2014. So far, its faithful volunteers have recreated four different bedrooms. Rooms of Refuge provides terminally ill kids throughout Madison County with free bedroom makeovers. Rooms of Refuge takes referrals from medical professionals, the children's parents and the patients themselves. Children must be 18 years old or younger, diagnosed by a physician with a life-threatening medical condition, live in Madison County and the homeowner must sign a liability release.

For natives of the Huntsville area, the name of Providence, an up-scale planned community in west Huntsville, conjures up visions of expensive townhouses and excellent restaurants. But the area is much more diverse than that, and Refuge Church, a new congregation meeting on Sundays in Providence Elementary School, has become a refuge for a congregation coming from all economic classes, races and religious backgrounds. Here is a Q & A with lead Pastor Jason Parks, formerly the youth minister at Flint River Baptist Church between Meridianville and Hazel Green. Who and where? Refuge Church, meeting at Providence Elementary School, 10 Chalkstone Street, Huntsville, Ala. 35806, since September 2013. Sunday services at 10:30 a.m., with small groups meeting during the week throughout the community. Sponsors? We are grateful to several churches from several denominational backgrounds which have helped provide financial support, ministry training, and prayer for the Refuge Church Dream Team. We are a church plant of the non-denominational Association of Related Churches in Birmingham. Ministers? Lead Pastor Jason Parks, associate Pastors Mark Branon and Chanda Crutcher, and worship leader Carl Parker Jr. Your background: I’m an ordinary guy, but I want to live an extraordinary life. I am passionate about helping people experience life to its fullest. My main pastoral goals are to be known for relevant teaching and love for people. Prior to full-time ministry, I worked in public relations and marketing, including for Crestwood Medical Center. I hold a bachelor’s in communication from the University of North Alabama, a master’s in business administration from Liberty University and a master’s in divinity from Rockbridge Seminary. I am also a certified pastoral counselor – training I sought when I realized that a lot of a pastor’s job involves counseling people in tough situations. Madison County pastor opens U.S. House of Representatives in prayer

A Hazel Green pastor today served as chaplain at the U.S. House of Representatives as the guest of Rep. Mo Brooks. Jason Parks, the lead pastor at Refuge Church, opened today's House session in prayer. Parks serves on the ALS Association Patient Care Committee, Calhoun Community College EMS Advisory Board and as a faculty member at Huntsville Bible College. "I appreciate the work he has done for our community and his passion for serving the people of North Alabama," Brooks said. The text of Parks' prayer, according to Brooks' office: "Let us pray. Father God, thank you for the rich blessings you have lavished upon the United States of America. We are so unworthy of your grace and your mercy. Today we pray for the men and women of the United States House of Representatives. Give them great wisdom, protection, and steadfast resolve. "In their personal lives, we ask that you replace turmoil with peace, bitterness with joy, and doubt with encouragement. "For our country Father, we ask that you give us a renewed sense of gratitude, an unquenchable zeal for serving those who are in need, and unity toward the common purpose of liberty. "Above all else, Father, we honor you today. We humbly intercede on behalf of our country and her leaders. In Jesus' name, amen."
