It's that time of year again. The snow and ice seem to be receding, there is now more winter behind us than in front - but before the first robin tweets or that flower sprouts; there is one thing everyone can expect to find - potholes.

Potholes are the bane of the existence of just about every municipality in Canada and parts of the northern United States. They are costly to fill and fix, seem to pop out of nowhere at any time, drive taxpayers crazy and the damage to tires, rims and vehicles is substantial.

But who is to blame? And can this epidemic that plagues roadways with the same consistency as the flu every year ever be cured? It's a question that politicians, the public and those who build our roads have been searching high and low for - for years.

Jeff Walker is a professor of civil engineering at Cambrian College with an expertise in structural design, infrastructure and of all things - potholes. He has spoken many times with media regarding potholes and is considered the 'go-to' person in Ontario regarding this very unique topic. He is available to speak to media at any time - simply click on Jeff's icon to arrange an interview.
