Biography

Dr. Jafari has a long-term experience in teaching. Over the past 15 years, he has served as faculty member, lecturer, teaching assistant and private tutor.

Her research activities have been conducted in diverse areas of discrete optimization with focus on real-world applications. They vary from transportation, supply chain management, and natural resources management. Her primary areas of expertise are in network design and resource allocation problems.

Operations Management

This course undertakes an examination of the role of operations within manufacturing and service organizations. Emphasis is placed upon recognizing operational opportunities and trade offs, and employing quantitative and qualitative tools and decision support systems to assist strategic and operational decision-making. The general functions of operations management as applied to the transformation process are covered. Some of the important topics include but not limited to Forecasting, Statistical Quality Control, Inventory Management, Linear Programming, and Transportation Models.

This course covers the purchasing and movement of materials into, through, and out of a firm; fundamentals of domestic and international transportation systems; distribution center, warehouse, and plant location; and management of multinational organizations and supply networks.

Business Statistics

This course provides an understanding of statistical concepts and tools that are critical in business decision-making. The discussion and development of each topic is presented in an application setting, with the statistical results providing insights and solutions to real world problems. Students will be able to calculate and perform various analyses, including but not limited to: Interval Estimation, Hypothesis Testing, Test of Goodness of Fit, and Independence and Regression Analysis.
