Biography
Nick has over 15 years of experience in financial markets. He has specific expertise in the areas of research and development of trading models; as well as the analysis, examination, refinement of different systems and trading strategies. This experience spans a broad spectrum of financial instruments.
Nick has served as president of UPOD Inc. since 2014. While at UPOD Inc., Nick designed and developed software systems that provide proprietary algorithmic trading models for a multi-system portfolio. That portfolio possesses a combination of non-correlated strategies that allows for exposure to alternative asset classes within a customizable and strategic framework.
From 2006 - 2015 Nick served as an international finance strategic consultant, working with Monexo in Dusseldorf, Germany; the Swiss Investment Fund in Malta; Pacific Allegiance Capital LLC in Nevis; and the Bluewater Fund in the United States. Prior to that, Nick served as the Director of Business Development and Strategic Initiatives at Fifty Plus Net Inc., where Nick was responsible for expansion strategies and provided company comparison analysis for a myriad of industries, including: travel, auto, catalogue, and loyalty.
From 2002 - 2004 Nick served as the Director of Corporate Development, Corporate Finance and Mergers & Acquisitions at Creditz Inc. While there, Nick devised a business model for the company that encompassed all aspects of financing, operation and business strategy. He was also responsible for the development of detailed expansion and capital strategies. Nick began his professional career in the financial industry at Groome Capital in 2000, where he was responsible for corporate finance, fundamental and technical analysis and developing trading models for the equity markets. Nick earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Western Ontario in 1999 as well as an Applied Information Technology Master of Business Administration degree in 2001 from Dalhousie University and the Information Technology Institute.
