Biography

Norma Yuriar is an adjunct lecturer. A licensed clinical social worker with a pupil personnel services credential, she has more than 16 years of experience providing mental health services to children, adults and families.

She has worked in a variety of areas, including schools, mental health clinics, special education, substance abuse recovery, community-based agencies and the foster care system. She has extensive training in various evidenced-based practices, such as Managing and Adapting Practice, Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools, Positive Parenting Program and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. In addition to direct service, Yuriar has experience writing grants and supervising master- and bachelor-level social work interns both in the field and virtually.
