Biography
Raman has published more than 10 articles and book chapters on subjects relating to online privacy and customer relationship management. Her most recent article is on gamification trends and how elements of game playing can be used to increase participation in surveys. Currently, she is examining how different groups of people use online health care resources.
Raman works closely with local area non-profit organizations and small businesses. Several of her student teams have partnered with these institutions to provide business consulting expertise.

Pushkala Raman, the professor overseeing the students work, said her class is centered around a small-business project, where they have to meet deadlines instead of taking exams. “It’s not the same type of class structure or the comfort of holding a textbook or having exams,” Raman said. “Then at the end, they have a real sense of accomplishment.”
