Sanford J. (Sandy) Leeds, CFA is a lawyer and money manager, and the director of the student-run MBA Investment Fund at the McCombs School of Business, The University of Texas at Austin. He is a popular lecturer, speaker and writer on topics involving investments, the economy and public policy. He tends to keep a particularly close eye on the Federal Reserve.

Leeds is a distinguished senior lecturer at the school of business, and teaches graduate-level courses, including Corporate Finance, Advanced Corporate Finance, Investments, and Portfolio Management/Security Analysis. He is a member of the Texas State Bar, and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Before he joined the faculty, Sandy managed money for a private money management firm. He was one of four portfolio managers responsible for approximately $1.6 billion of assets. He analyzed publicly-traded companies, and has extensive experience implementing option strategies.

Sandy also has significant legal experience, having conducted approximately 100 jury trials and 100 bench trials. He has participated in the regulation of the securities industry, conducting the hearing against most of the principals involved in the Sterling Foster case (a $75 million fraud). He has also advised attorneys on financial related litigation involving options, hedge fund, and other matters.

Sandy Leeds is an experienced executive education teacher in the Texas Executive MBA program in Dallas, as well as in international general management programs. He has received numerous awards for teaching excellence.
