Biography

SCOTT ABBOTT is an authentic servant leader. He’s an innovator, businessman, and social investor. He’s started, purchased, and managed companies. He’s also worked with thousands of people, and hundreds of corporations, including: IBM, Microsoft, GE, Apple, P&G, McDonalds, Lilly, Oracle, HP, Intel, Sprint, Amazon & Harley Davidson.

Scott is a student and teacher of business, and life. However, he thinks of himself foremost as a son, husband, father, friend, and humanist. It was in this spirit of fellowship, coupled with what he calls his “civic duty”, that he wrote his Gen Y character education and career-centric life skills book: Pocket PorchLights: Reflections, Insights, and Recommendations for Helping Young Adults Succeed in Business, and Life (while benefiting “older” adults who live and work with them). Pocket PorchLights is an award-winning, best-seller that will help young adults - of all ages - be happier and more successful at work, home, relationships and life.

Scott’s an acclaimed speaker to businesses, schools, philanthropic, and faith-based organizations. In his “edu-taining” talks, Scott leverages his book, blogs, and other relevant/newsworthy material - along with great music, impactful videos and some pretty cool cerebral magic. Scott’s conversations help level-set, inspire, and enlighten – as he discusses the importance of good choices, work, balance, values, servant leadership, family, character, faith, change, and more.

Scott is the Co-Founder and Chairman of TalentLogistiX (TLX), a workforce solutions company. He is a Managing Partner at PinPoint Resources and TechTrades, and Advisory Partner at CareerScribe. Scott also serves as a business advisor to corporations, schools and not-for-profit organizations. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana – Scott has lived in several US cities, and overseas, where he spent much of his youth living in a combination of England, France, and Spain. Scott graduated high school from The American School in Madrid, and college from DePaul University in Chicago. He was a finalist for an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award, and was a Master Entrepreneur in Residence at Indiana University. In addition to his work and various philanthropic activities, Scott’s also writing his weekly blog, and working on his next book (so we’re told). Scott lives with his wife and two children in Carmel, Indiana.
