Biography

Stuart Ching is a Professor of English at Loyola Marymount University, where he teaches courses in composition and rhetoric, modern English grammar, and children's literature in the English Department, as well as introductory courses in literature and creative writing in the University Core. His research on multicultural issues related to children's literature, the politics of literacy, and cross-cultural issues in composition studies has appeared in journals such as Language Arts, the English Journal, and The New Advocate as well as in collections such as Representations: Doing Asian American Rhetoric and The Subject is Story, among others. His creative work has appeared in literary journals and anthologies: among these, Hawaii Pacific Review, North Dakota Quarterly, Madison Review, Bamboo Ridge, A Voice for Earth: American Writers Respond to the Earth Charter, The Best of Honolulu Fiction, and Growing Up Local: An Anthology of Poetry and Prose from Hawaii.
