Biography
Dr. Teresa Taylor serves as executive director of the Center for Culturally Responsive Engagement at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. In her role as executive director, she provides overall leadership and direction for the Center’s mission to enhance diversity and inclusivity through intercultural competence. Dr. Taylor also serves as diversity officer for Saint Mary’s on the Minneapolis campus where she supports robust and collaborative working relationships among administration, faculty, staff, and students around the core values of inclusivity, respect, and solidarity. Additionally, Dr. Taylor serves as faculty in the Graduate School of Education where she teaches in several graduate programs. Her research is in the area of culturally responsive teaching, a topic she enjoys speaking about in her many courses. Dr. Taylor’s passion for social justice and educational equity is firmly grounded in her faith. She believes that empowering others through education is her vocational calling.
