Dr Muhammad Azmat, Assistant Professor in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Aston University, Birmingham, is available to provide comment on the humanitarian use of drones in the current Turkish/Syrian earthquake disaster, and why they should be used more.
“There are several examples from the recent past that suggest autonomous drones and drone swarms could be an effective tool to speed up search and rescue operations.
“I believe there is a need for more awareness of drones and humanitarian organisations should be encouraged in using this new technology.”
