Began as an assistant, worked my way up to being the night supervisor of a 500 bed hospital laboratory. 1962-1967

The Civil Rights Act of 1964 caused a huge problem for previously dejure and/or defacto black hospitals. In 1965, no one applied for residency in obstetrics. Having cleared the work with the Medical School Dean, five of my classmates worked 7 PM to 7 AM delivering babies. 1966 through 1967
