Dr. Giles Peek is a congenital heart surgeon and ECMOlogist with experience in neonates, children, and adults.
Biography
Dr. Giles Peek is a professor of surgery and pediatrics at UF. He has been fascinated by extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) since 1994. His thesis investigated the use of different biomaterials during extracorporeal life support. He was the PI of the CESAR trial. He is an inaugural fellow of ELSO. He chaired the ECMO sub-study group for the Covid Critical Care Consortium. He is co-chair of the ELSO guidelines sub-committee, and senior editor of the ELSO Pediatric and Neonatal Foundations Curriculum.
