Biography

Kennedy Wheatley has been shooting film and video since high school, where she found excuses to leave history and trigonometry class and escape to the high school darkroom. Her student film, Iron Ladies, won a Student Academy Award in the documentary division, as well as the Director's Guild of America Student Filmmaker Award.

Kennedy Wheatley began her career writing TV spots and educational shows for political groups, unions and non-profit organizations. Later, she joined Willie Nelson's Farm Aid, where she wrote and produced TV specials on the farm crisis with Nelson, John Mellencamp and Neil Young, among others.

Kennedy regularly shoots documentary pieces for the Discovery Channel, the Learning Channel and several Internet companies. She has written and filmed segments for Sesame Street.
