Is there a safe way to use USB public charging stations without the worry of being hacked?

There are USB data blockers, colloquially known as USB condoms, available that will block data transfers but still allow charging. When using public charging stations we should, at a minimum, watch for strange behaviors, weird popups, and being asked questions about trusting the device or drive we’re connected to. Those are danger signs, and we’d want to disconnect quickly. Best bet, bring your own charger.
