Biography
Adam McOmber holds an MFA in Fiction Writing from Indiana University and has been teaching at Loyola Marymount University since 2015. During his time at LMU, Adam has taught Rhetorical Arts, Creative Writing, and Literature, and he currently serves as a full-time writing instructor in the First Year Seminar Program. He has a deep commitment to the success of LMU students and is dedicated to fostering their growth as both thinkers and writers.
Adam is an accomplished author of four novels, including The White Forest (Simon & Schuster), Jesus and John (Lethe), The Ghost Finders (JournalStone), and Hound of the Baskervilles (Lethe). His novels explore queer themes along with mystery, the supernatural, and historical intrigue. In addition to his novels, Adam has authored three collections of short stories, My House Gathers Desires (BOA), This New & Poisonous Air (BOA), and Fantasy Kit (Black Lawrence), which have been praised for their imaginative and vivid storytelling.
Adam also serves as the editor-in-chief of Hunger Mountain, a national literary magazine that highlights the work of both emerging and established writers, contributing significantly to the contemporary literary scene. He remains deeply involved in the literary community of Los Angeles and beyond, participating in conferences, workshops, and readings, and through his editorial leadership and dedication to the craft, Adam actively hopes to shape and inspire the next generation of literary voices.
