Biography
I studied violin and viola performance and improvisation at the New England Conservatory of Music at Rivers. At Hampshire College, I studied music theory, composition, performance and improvisation focusing on world music, classical music, bluegrass and folk music. I graduated in 1985. I began teaching violin, viola and mandolin in 1986.
I have had many positions in sales and marketing within the music and natural products industries. The most memorable were working for Anthony Harnett at Bread & Circus (now Whole Foods) as the Wine & Cheese Manager. The other was starting my own violin business in 2004. I was in Asia sourcing a new supply of horse tail hair for a client. I toured all over the continent, spending time at farms and factories, setting up relationships with some of the top providers of bow hair, as well as bows, accessories and other items.
Since then, I have moved to South Hadley where I am in the process of setting up a retail storefront downtown. I plan to be open no later than September 2012.
