Biography
Alan has been a CEO or founder of several technology companies and he continues to find a thrill in being involved in growth stage opportunities.
Over the years he has built a technology product business from the beginning and grew it to $200M in revenue in the Asia Pacific region.
In the early years of the web he co-founded Pacific Connections, which was acquired by China.com, (CHINA:NASDAQ). He also co-founded one of the world’s first ASP (SaaS) companies, and was the CEO of Think Dynamics, which was acquired by IBM. Think Dynamics won “Investment of The Year” from the CVCA.
Alan is a Toronto native living in Shanghai where he is leveraging his background into the Chinese clean technology world by both investing in early stage companies and complementing this with distributing their products into China. He is the CEO of JIE Technologies Ltd., the leading water technology distribution company in China. He is a Director at the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, and a past YPO member.
