Biography
AJ Minette is an accomplished composer, producer, and guitarist whose work spans film, television, video games, and popular music production. With over a decade of teaching experience at Loyola Marymount University, Minette combines an active professional career with a passion for mentoring the next generation of musicians.
His instrumental performances can be heard in the Academy Award nominated film American Fiction, and the hit Netflix television series From Scratch. As a producer and composer, he has contributed original music, arrangements, and additional production for Bluff City Law (NBC) and The Village (NBC).
As a music producer, Minette has collaborated with artists such as Plini, Jamie Drake, Elle Cordova, Lola Blanc, Syncatto, and The Human Abstract. His production and orchestration work has collectively garnered millions of streams worldwide.
At Loyola Marymount University, Minette teaches The Guitar Experience, private guitar lessons, and instruction in Contemporary Styles & Practices. He also serves as the producer of the LMU Guitar Festival.
Minette earned his Bachelor of Arts in Music from Loyola Marymount University, graduating Magna Cum Laude and receiving the Richard Trame S.J. Music Award.
In addition to his studies in classical guitar, he has pursued independent studies in historic keyboard improvisation and partimento with Ewal Demeyere and German thoroughbass traditions with Derek Remeš. His diverse background brings a unique perspective to his performances and teaching.
