Biography
Alfredo Pires de Castro was the Chairman of the 2010 ASTD Advisory Committee, wrote eight books about leadership, motivation, coaching and team work. He is recognized as an specialist in training and development field. Speaks english, spanish and portuguese.

His experience in implementing blended learning programs and human resource projects (such as emotional intelligence), in more than 120 companies, in Brazil, England, USA, Scotland, Argentina, Portugal, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Colombia, Nigeria, Malaysia, China and Venezuela, conducted him to learn how to identify specific aspects and work with cross cultural organizations.
For 16 consecutive years, he had been at ASTD. He presented 10 sessions at ASTD Conferences (Atlanta, Dallas, Washington, New Orleans, San Diego, Orlando and Atlanta) and was the general coordinator of the Latin American Forum (held for 9 times in USA).
His last book is titled “Motivational Leadership”. As the president of a brazilian training company, he conducts projects for multicultural organizations like Clariant, Ford, Avon, Sony, Gillette, and many other big national companies. Rewarded with HR Leadership Award International 2008, received in Mumbai, India.
He was also one of the international speakers who presented at Asia 2002, an international conference held in Kuala Lumpur, Asia, in the ASTD International Conference in Panama, Central America, one of the keynote speakers at the IODA International conference in Abuja, Nigeria, one of plenary speakers in the South African 2007 ASTD International Conference in Cape Town (being invited again in 2010), one of the international invited speakers at the e-learning 2005 France, in Paris, January 2005, and one of international speakers, representing ASTD, at the mexican international conference - presenting in spanish - held by AMECAP, in september 2004, Mexico City, Keynote speaker at First Arab World ASTD Conference in Cairo, Egipt, November 2007, and at Asia Pacific Conference, Mumbai, India, February 2008.
