Social work expert, focusing on the well-being youths


Alison Greene is part of the social work adjunct faculty at USC. Since 2002, she has worked as a social worker for the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services.

At DCFS, she has held numerous positions in both the Adoption and Permanency Resources Division and the Bureau of Child Protection. Her roles have spanned emergency response work and case management services to prospective foster and adoptive families. She also mentors associate clinical social workers in individual and group settings to provide structured exploration and development of their clinical skills. She advises on best practices in case presentation, diagnosis, clinical interventions, legal and ethical considerations, and professional use of self.

Greene received her master’s degree in social work from USC and has been a licensed clinical social worker since 2007. She received her bachelor’s in sociology and history from the University of Wisconsin-Madison
