Biography
Aliza Sherman is a Web pioneer, digital strategist and commentator specializing in exploring how tech affects how we work and live. She is a dynamic motivational speaker who is frequently invited to present around the world about Internet, social media, and mobile marketing, as well as tech and business issues specific to women. She also writes about these issues for national publications and websites including Entrepreneur, Mashable, and Pink.
In 1995, Newsweek named her one of the “Top People Who Matter Most on the Internet” after she founded the first woman-owned, full-service Internet company, Cybergrrl, Inc. and the first global Internet networking organization for women, Webgrrls International. In 2009, Fast Company named her one of the Most Powerful Women in Technology.
In 2011, her company Mediaegg launched an iOS app called “Girls Can Be Anything Paperdolls” to provide age-appropriate, family-friendly games for young children who are already smartphone savvy. She continues to consult corporations and nonprofit organizations about social and mobile applications and engagement.
Aliza’s books include The Everything Blogging Book, Streetwise Ecommerce, PowerTools for Women in Business, The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Crowdsourcing, and Mom, Incorporated. Her next book will be on Social Media and Mobile Engagement.
