Biography
Dr. Allison Stock is an internationally known toxicologist with 25 years of toxicological, epidemiological, regulatory, and environmental experience. Her background is supported by experience in the federal and state government as well as private industry (small and Fortune 500 companies).
Dr. Stock specializes in human health risk assessments combing both toxicological and epidemiological data. She has expertise in petrochemicals; pharmaceutical agents; environmental permitting; property transfer; environmental, social, and health impact assessments; inhalation toxicology; renal toxicology; drug and alcohol exposures; toxicological and epidemiological risk assessment; communicable and foodborne illnesses such as Legionella, Salmonellosis, and Pseudomonas infections; rapid needs assessments; emergency response; ambient and indoor air monitoring; occupational health and safety plans; and stakeholder communications.
Dr. Stock has served on both federal and industry working groups on air pollution issues such as particulate matter (PM2.5), benzene, carbon monoxide, and low sulfur diesel exhaust. She has also served as a corporate representative and an expert witness for litigation support. Dr. Stock has extensive experience in the evaluation of human health impact studies following environmental, occupational, and pharmaceutical exposures.

This episode of PLRB on Demand will feature an interview on: “Food Safety: It’s Not Always a Gut Feeling” with Dr. Allison Stock, Vice President of Environmental Health and Safety at JS Held. Dr. Stock is an internationally known toxicologist with 25 years of toxicological, epidemiological, regulatory, and environmental experience. In today’s conversation, Dr. Stock will challenge some common misconceptions about food safety, and educate us on the science behind food-borne illnesses. She will provide us with some practical tips for avoiding these illnesses, and discuss how training can help food be prepared safety.

Conducting Effective Health Impact Assessments in the Oil and Gas Industry
Society of Petroleum Engineers2010 Health impact assessments (HIAs) have been used for a number of years in the public sector to assess the potential for impacts associated with urban redevelopment projects. HIAs can also serve as a valuable tool in the evaluation of capital projects in the oil and gas sector. Conducting HIAs for industry capital projects, however, is not common and few people or organizations have experience performing HIAs in this context.
Conference summary: International Biomass Smoke Health Effects (IBSHE)
Inhalation Toxicology2007 The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the University of Montana's Center for Environmental Health Sciences (CEHS) co-hosted a conference entitled "International Biomass Smoke and Health Effects" in Missoula, MT, on August 21 and 22, 2007. The goal of this conference was to bring together experts from diverse fields to review the state of the science in several key areas involving biomass smoke research, as well as identify future research directions.
