Biography
Amy Damianakes has spent more than 25 years improving business performance through communications for software, healthcare, biotechnology and telecommunications companies. She is founder and CEO of Damianakes Communications, a boutique consulting firm that serves start-ups to global giants.
Amy believes in the power of effectively packaging information to drive results. She has helped leaders boost productivity, grow revenues, improve customer satisfaction, motivate employees, build strong brands, navigate change and save millions. Her approach includes coaching executives and managers to improve their effectiveness as public speakers, media spokespersons and leaders.
Her career spans decades and disciplines. Amy has expertise in marketing communications, employee communications, organizational development, crisis avoidance, corporate communications, media relations, customer communications, speechwriting, technical writing and change management. Amy develops positioning and marketing platforms to differentiate products, business ventures and brands. She also helps build and sustain high-performing organizations where employees understand how to deliver on business goals, fulfill brand promises, and make the most of company programs and resources. Her methodology includes articulating vision, mission and values, and ensuring alignment with practices for hiring, orienting, rewarding and recognizing employees for a variety of clients.
Before launching her consulting business in 1999, Amy was the corporate spokesperson for Pacific Telesis Group, a $10B enterprise. She was responsible for providing counsel to senior executives as well as financial disclosure, foundation and public policy communications. Much of her time was spent supporting the growing international and domestic wireless operations which led to her role as Director of Communications for wireless spinoff, AirTouch Communications. She remained with AirTouch and directed all communications through the merger with Vodafone.
Over the years, Amy’s passion for giving has led her to serve on the Western Regional Board of the American Foundation for the Blind, manage equipment for LMYA youth soccer and serve on the Board for the Urban Services YMCA of the East Bay. She currently gives her time to Keys of Change and two microenterprise-focused organizations: Women’s Initiative for Self-Employment, and the California Association of Microenterprise Opportunity (CAMEO).
