Andres Matlock's research is focused on Cicero's ethical dialogues, Roman literature and epistolography, and continental philosophy.


Andres Matlock is a Lecturer in the Department of Classics and Archaeology at Loyola Marymount University. He received his PhD in Classics from the University of California, Los Angeles, where his dissertation examined the effects of experience on time in Cicero's philosophical dialogues. His other interests include the history of the concept of solitude, archaic Greek poetry (especially Sappho), and the relationship between ancient and modern thought.
