Biography
Andrew attended Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania having earned a Posse Foundation Leadership Scholar Award and Scholarship. At Dickinson he double-majored in Africana Studies and American Studies, and acted as President and Liaison for Dickinson College’s African-American Society, as well as serving in numerous social justice collectives and efforts.
These experiences carried on his strong, life-long interest in African American History and social activism which also supported the development of his theses covering the social construction of race through sports.
Professionally, Andrew Hill has several years’ experience in academic enrichment and student development. He was worked with high-school students through Upward Bound programs in both Los Angeles (West LA College) and Hawai’i (University of Hawai’i, Maui). Returning to work with the former, Andrew now augments his role as the Administrative Coordinator of the West LA College Academic Affairs Office with visits to Dorsey and Crenshaw High Schools where he tutors and recruits students to the Upward Bound program. His greatest joy in working with students is the wonder and enthusiasm they find in the things they love- the moment when a student finds something they love to learn about.
Andrew is proudly a student of University of Southern California’s Digital Social Media Master’s program from which he will graduate in December 2015. He is tremendously excited for the opportunity this program represents, and looks forward to the growth it brings.

An increasingly large proportion of our communications take place through digital social medias- communities and community action find homes solely through social media avenues. The Digital Social Media program delves into the dynamics of these medias, these communities, as well as the process behind development- from structure to content, from idea to hyperlink, and from moment to movement. This Master's of Science degree is a year's immersion into the communication techniques and technology of bringing it all together. (Annenberg School of Communication)
