Biography
Her colleagues call her the “People Grower” and through her community work, business growth and development, and her never-ending desire to give, Horton is at home with people. You will see it in her smile, in her presentations, and scattered like shining stars throughout her work. Through failing at 6 different business endeavors, she has learned what works and doesn’t and refuses to give up on the potential the entrepreneurship holds for humanity.
She is an entrepreneur, business coach and whiz at marketing and public relations. She holds a bachelor degree in business administration, has won several community awards, and served as Chamber of Commerce Chair tripling networks for women in business.
Deeply embedded in the community lies her passion. She currently serves on several boards, namely NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners), as well as the co-chair for the Marketing Education Business Advisory Board for the State of Utah Department of Education.
She is the founder and principle for The City Launch, a full-service, hybrid public relations firm. Through the programs and systems, small to medium-sized businesses are assisted through the process of solidifying their foundation, then carefully guided to a point where they can begin capitalizing on the momentum, maximizing their visibility and increasing their revenue.
Though she is somewhat afraid of falling, she is no stranger to heights; she owns a successful roofing company. Her mission in life and in business is to completely light up and inspire the people in her life, and that is exactly what she does.
Her favorite quote, “I keeps mine eyes on the sky and my toes under the roses.” She is madly in love with the sky and regularly enjoys birding to get a peaceful fill of it. She loves driving fast, gardening and begs all sushi lovers to try her invention, the ‘Horton’ house roll. At the Great Salt Lake during the cool evenings of springtime you will find her sailing with friends with a tall glass of home brewed beer in one hand and a fresh picked bouquet in the other. Research is second nature with projects in intercultural studies, organizational behavior, and nucleic family dynamics at the top. She resides with her family in Salt Lake City, UT.
