Biography

Vrana's research interests include student and social movements, Central America, social class, race, disability and history of medicine, and nationalisms. Her articles and reviews have appeared in the Radical History Review, Journal of Genocide Research, Ethnohistory, e-misférica, and Journal of Latin American Geography. Her 2018 book The Idea of Disability and the Making of Modern Central America traces the emergence of the category of “the disabled” across Central America's 20th century.
