Ayser Salman
Senior Lecturer of Screenwriting Loyola Marymount University
Biography
An Iraqi-born Muslim, Ayser spent her formative years in Kentucky, with a short stint in Saudi Arabia. This nomadic childhood made her constantly feel like a fish out of water, while also shaping her interest for storytelling with an eye toward representation and inclusion.
Ayser worked as a news producer in Kentucky before moving to Los Angeles to be a writer/editor of documentary/docu-series. This led to the natural progression… of comedy writing.
Her comic memoir, “The Wrong End of the Table,” was published in 2019 by Skyhorse Publishing.
Ayser is currently developing it as a TV series.
