Biography
Bernadeen McLeod is the principle behind Mentor Works Ltd. As a corporate mentor and specialist in government grants and loans, she helps executives and business owners redefine their organizations in new and exciting ways – to build engaged teams and increase profits.
After 18 years as an executive and general manager, Bernadeen began coaching other organizations on small business financing options once she realized that being a successful company is about more than financial results, net profit, ratios with trend lines and return on investment. It is also about thinking strategically and growing the business with the help of government capital funding, wise investment and training.
Bernadeen operates her business out of her offices in Burlington, Cambridge, and Hamilton, Ontario with clients throughout the region including Toronto, Kitchener, Waterloo, Guelph, Burlington, and Hamilton.

In a timely and professional manner, Mentor Works Principle and Founder, Bernadeen McLeod, helped us swim through the sea of government funding programs available for new and existing businesses. Her professional and timely services utilize a triage approach to find specific funding mechanisms that untimely had a direct bearing on our ability to secure funds and enable us to facilitate company growth. Her knowledge, wealth of industry contacts and complete understanding of program details, allowed us to isolate and focus on funding mechanisms that were right for us.

Bernadeen made navigating through the maze of funding opportunities simple. While working with her my perception of the level of difficulty for selecting and applying for funding has changed. I realize now that you just need to know what you need and take the time to go get it.
Steven Smith, Controller | Anderson Water Systems
Bernadeen did an outstanding job assisting Anderson with a very complex application process coupled with very tight deadlines. She did so in a professional manner and the results from the the application were positive. Excellent over all experience working with her.
Dave Jarret, President | Midpoint International
Mentor Works provided us with a greater understanding of the breadth of funding options available. While we were already aware of Yves Landry, IRAP & SRED, we were not aware of other grant & matching programs at the Regional, Provincial & Federal levels.
