Biography
Beverly Benfield has twenty-three years of successful classroom, athletic, and school-wide leadership within three metro area and rural school systems. A high learning threshold is evidenced by Doctorate level work and additional field experience; An ability to work independently as well as within a group allows for a variety of opportunities and experiences as a speaker, educator and lifelong learner. Bev has various skills, including classroom instruction, athletics, leadership, assessment, analysis, communication, problem solving, public speaking, and management/coaching at all levels. Participated in SACS committee preparations, and multiple leadership teams as grade level chair
Gifted Psychology Instructor, Assistant Principal
Implemented program for New Teacher Orientation using Robert Marzano’s Classroom Practices that Work and Effective Classroom Management; Stephen Covey’s “Seven Habits…”; Professional Learning Communities of Dufour & Eaker; teacher collaboration, creation of common assessments, and researching best practices in order to improve student achievement; workshops involving Class Keys and Georgia Performance Standards
Former Girl’s Basketball, Volleyball and Softball Coach; Head Girls Varsity Basketball Coach at Harrison High
