Biography
Bill Watkins is a recovering alcoholic and comedic poet with an entertaining, uplifting story to tell. He founded travelingpoet.net as a platform to explore his love for poetry, history, and current events; has written and published forty-five books in multiple genres, from children's to poetry to YA political sci-fi, sports, history, law, humor and education. His most recent publication, Land Thieves, is a historical fiction piece that explores the controversial founding of the United States with dark humor and poetic indictment.
Bill performs Shakespeare and Frost, reads his own work, tells jokes, tells the truth, plays characters, music, sings, even dances! Always on the ready to share how he overcame suicidal depression by waking up spiritually and politically. Trying daily to be a spirit not a ghost, spreading love and recovery.

After years of playing around with diabolical forces, Bill had his last conscious drink of alcohol on March 6th, 2002.
Started a Ministry 2005
Pushed to the brink of homelessness, living in motels, Bill founded a ministry to help those in need.
Junior Olympic Gold Medal 1990
At seventeen, Bill played on the best youth boys volleyball team in the world.
Phi Beta Kappa
In 1994, Bill was invited to become a member of The Phi Beta Kappa Society.
