Biography
Dr. Cochlovius studied Biology and Biochemistry at Universitat des Saarlandes, Saarbrucken,␣ Germany␣ and␣ Homburg␣ University␣ Medical␣ School,␣ Homburg,␣ Germany.␣ He␣ received␣ his␣ Ph.D.␣ magna␣ cum␣ laude␣ after␣a␣dissertation␣at␣the␣German␣Cancer␣Research␣Center,␣Heidelberg,␣Germany.␣There␣he␣also␣spent␣his␣ post␣doc␣ time␣ and␣ served␣ later␣ as␣ Department␣ Head.␣ During␣ that␣ period,␣ Dr.␣ Cochlovius␣ also␣ has␣ been␣ EMBO␣fellowship␣ guest␣ scientist␣ at␣ the␣ Weizmann␣ Institute␣ of␣ Sciences␣ in␣ Rehovot,␣ Israel.␣ The␣ Medical␣ Faculty␣ of␣ Ruprecht␣Karls␣ Universitat,␣ Heidelberg,␣ Germany␣ appointed␣ him␣ as␣ Privatdozent␣ (Associate␣ Professor)␣ for␣ Immunology␣ in␣ 2002.␣ In␣ the␣ same␣ year,␣ he␣ joined␣ the␣ life␣ science␣ industry␣ and␣ served␣ as␣ R&D␣ Head␣ of␣ the␣ Scandinavian␣ biotech␣ company␣ Affitech␣ (Oslo,␣ Norway),␣ followed␣ by␣ an␣ assignment␣ as␣ start␣up␣CEO␣to␣the␣biotech␣company␣OnTarget␣(Oslo).␣Thereafter␣he␣served␣during␣an␣MBO␣as␣strategic␣ advisor␣to␣Alpharma␣Norway␣(now␣Axellia)␣and␣finally␣as␣Business␣Development␣Director␣in␣the␣Partnering␣ Department␣ at␣ Roche␣ in␣ Basel,␣ Switzerland.␣ Dr.␣ Cochlovius␣ combines␣ in␣depth␣ scientific␣ knowledge␣ and␣ drug␣development␣expertise␣with␣a␣strong␣business␣acumen.␣
