Biography

Brenno Kenji Kaneyasu’s varied interests meet at the intersection of art, literature, and philosophy. Having studied Law in Brazil, he received his PhD in Literature & Critical Theory from UC Berkeley. His fascination with the expressive power of language led him to an exploration of the visual arts and to a long-lasting engagement with the language of drawing, in particular as it relates to the human figure and its connections to narrative and storytelling. He is also Affiliate Professor, Artist and Scholar in Residence at the Marymount Institute.
