Biography

Brian Appleton is author of two books on Iran and numerous articles in magazines as well as TV interviews for CREATV,Apadana TV, Rang a Rang and Markazi TV. Brian lived in Iran 5 years from 1974 to 1979 as well as spending summers there as early as 1966 and as recently as 2008. He has travelled extensively in the Middle East including Turkey, Afghanistan and Egypt.

Brian has written numeropus interviews of Iranian American film makers, philanthropists and authors for Persian Heritage Magazine and others. He has an MA in Ancient History and a BA in Anthropology graduating Phi Beta Kappa from GW University in 1972. Brian has served as a panelist in panel discussion groups at UCI, Harvard, MIT, Stanford University, UC Berkeley and the US Naval Academy in Annapolis.

He is a columnist for CASMII (Campaign Against Sanctions and Military Invasion of Iran) and a regular feature contributor to Zan Magazine, Iranian Times, Irandokht, Persian Mirror, Payvand News, Payam Javan, Pezhvak of Persia, Persian Heritage Magazine, Hack Writers, My life in Italy and others.

In addition to journalism and non fiction writing, he is also the author of numerous poetry.
