Biography

Brian D. Fowler, BSBA, ACPE:
Greetings, in my mind the medical profession is one of the most honorable. Medical Professionals help the sick, injured, dying, and they give hope to those that need it most. To become a good Medical Professional, it requires a wonderful yet demanding education, clinical experience and years of practical experience. But what I believe distinguishes a good Medical Professional from a great Medical Professional is compassion.

In my personal life I have felt the powerful impact of a compassionate Medical Professional. My son died in my arms and my wife went into a three-day coma and was not expected to live. A compassionate Medical Professional figuratively and literally helped me back on my feet.

As a Volunteer Chaplain at a local hospital, I have witnessed the powerful impact compassionate Medical Professionals make on the patient as well as family and friends of the patient. I also see the impact compassion has on the medical staff.

In my presentation, I combine the positive power of compassion given to me during that tragedy in my personal life and the compassion I witness as a Chaplain.

Through my true story, poetry, songs and my Chaplain heart, I present a powerful message of hope, understanding, and compassion.
