Biography

Bryna Kranzler is a graduate of Barnard College where she studied playwriting, and received the Helen Prince Memorial Prize for Dramatic Composition. Her first play, a finalist for the Eugene O'Neill Memorial Theater Competition, was scheduled for production twice: The first time, the theater owner died and the season was shut down. The second time the director committed suicide. For the benefit the arts community, she decided to get out of playwriting. She earned an MBA from Yale University, and spent 15 years in marketing for health-care, high tech and consumer products companies before returning to writing.

THE ACCIDENTAL ANARCHIST, her first book, was the winner of The USA “Best Books of 2011” Awards for Biography: Historical, and a finalist in ForeWord Magazine’s Book of the Year competition in the Biography category. She is also the daughter of the late Shimon Wincelberg, the first Orthodox writer in Hollywood. Bryna was named for the young girl who saved her grandfather's life in the true story that is told in The Accidental Anarchist.

Top qualities: Great Results, Personable, Expert “After reading the Accidental Anarchist, the Barnard College Club of San Diego asked Bryna to speak at our annual Spring Tea. The event was a huge success; Bryna captivated the attendees with a detailed and intimate talk of her true novel, the historical period the story is set in, and other interesting accounts of her grandfather. Her passion for her work was contagious and she was incredibly engaging during the talk and ensuing Q&A session. The guests could not stop saying how much they enjoyed this year's Spring Tea thanks to her! I enthusiastically recommend Bryna Kranzler as a speaker for any event!

Guilt & The Accidental Anarchist

Inheriting 3 generations of guilt motivated the author to bring the story of The Accidental Anarchist to the public. As the final descendents of the 'anarchist' were in their 80s, she was driven to complete a task begun over 100 years earlier: Tell the story of the man who had been sentenced to death 3 times in the early 1900s -- and lived to tell about it. He also happened to have been her grandfather. Through the process of going through his diaries, she learned about the grandfather she had never met, and some important lessons about survival.
