Biography
Cameron Ward is the Senior Vice President of Global Electronics for Allied Electronics and lead executive for global electronics distributor RS Components. He has more than 25 years of international experience in the electronics industry – including postings to the U.S., Hong Kong and Singapore – focused on supply chain and distribution.
Throughout his career, Cameron has been a corporate entrepreneur and change agent, helping organizations anticipate and capitalize on disruption, changes in market dynamics and technology evolution. He is passionate about the unique opportunity global distributors and the supply chain have to enable innovation, sustainability and growth for customers in a wide range of industries.
Before joining Allied Electronics / RS Components, Cameron was the Vice President of Global Procurement & Supply Chain at Flextronics and held global leadership positions at Premier Farnell, Arrow, E2Open and Future Electronics. He also serves as a board director and advisor to several technology companies.
Prior to his career in business, he served for 10 years as an Armoured Corps officer in the Canadian Armed Forces and is graduate of Champlain College.

Distributors are optimistic about future growth in North American

Many electronics distributors expect to post single-digit sales growth over the next five years as more electronics are used in more systems and products. It’s no secret that over the past 15 years, many North American electronics distributors have gone global expanding operations to Europe and Asia to service customers that have migrated manufacturing outside of North America. Distributors have also expanded global operations to service European and Asian-based OEMs and electronics manufacturing services providers that they had not done business with before. As a result of global expansion, the percentage of total sales of North American distributors customers in the U.S., Mexico and Canada has declined.
