CAROL COLE joined the adjunct faculty at the Virtual Academic Center in 2012. She is a licensed clinical social worker, substance abuse professional, board certified diplomate, certified sports counselor, master social work addictions counselor, continuing education provider and certified pranic healer. She has more than 20 years of clinical experience and training in the areas of anxiety and mood disorders, addictions, infertility, grief and attention disorders.
She began her career in community mental health in Orange County, California, where she was involved in program development and implementation with chronic mentally ill and dual diagnosis populations. She served as clinical director of the psychiatric emergency team at Orange County’s Health Care Agency, working with adolescent inpatient, foster care, child protection and adoptions, and geriatric populations. She was also a longtime consultant and trainer for the Victims of Crime federal program.
Cole worked part-time at California State University, Fullerton, where she specialized in cross-cultural counseling and at California State University, Long Beach, as a field instructor. She is a former faculty member for the National Association of Social Workers, and in 1998, she was nominated as California’s best practitioner for the Koshland Award.
She is a dedicated exam licensing trainer as well as a Certified Continuing Education provider for the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, Board of Registered Nursing and National Association of Forensic Counselors. She is also a member of the International Diagnostic and Statistical Manual 5 Field Research Team.
She currently maintains a private practice in Temecula, California, at the Carol Cole Center for Advanced Living and the Addictions & Pain Healing Center.
