Biography
Cassidy McMillan is the Award-Winning Director/Producer of the upcoming acclaimed Documentary Film on Bullying & Bullycide, BULLIES AND FRIENDS. For the film, McMillan conducted extensive research on bullying and bullycide throughout North America with students, parents, educators, counselors, medical professionals and judicial/legal system officials. Through her advocacy work and research on bullying/bullycide prevention, she has become a recognized Expert; Speaker and Media Contributor on the topics of Bullying, Girl Bullying, Relational Aggression, Bullycide and Legal Aspects within the juvenile justice system regarding bullying.
Awards include: the Walt Disney Company Partners In Excellence Award; Women In Film Foundation Award; United Nations UNA USA Global Impact Film Award; the Inanna Filmmaker Humanitarian Award; Cine's Social Awareness Award; among others. In 2012, Cassidy McMillan was named in the Official Proclamation of Bullying Awareness Day in Portland, Maine by the Mayor of Portland, Maine and Maine's Governor's Office.
In addition to her Film Directing/Producing/Screenwriting work, Cassidy McMillan is a SAG-AFTRA Film and Television Actress; Voiceover and Theater Actress. She has a Degree in Communications and currently serves on the Board of Directors with the Non-Profit Organization against bullying, National Voices for Equality, Education and Enlightenment.
McMillan is the CEO/President of McMillan FilmWorks, an independent film production company based in California, that produces projects that shine a spotlight on Social Cause Issues, Animal Rights and the Environment.
